This past week started well but finished on a sour note as markets digested the news of the Malaysian jet getting shot down over the Ukraine. While the crash is clearly a heartbreaking event, its important as investors to remember that such news on the stock market is generally short-lived.
From our perspective, market news remains positive. Besides being in the historically weak summer trends associated with a mid-term election year, our economic, fundamental and technical indicators remain positive. As a result, we feel comfortable with our current market allocations, but stand ready to make any corrections that may be warranted if the facts change.
