Lee, Marshall and I attended the National Conference for Triad-Advisors this past week in Florida. The event is focused on continuing education opportunities for financial advisors across many subjects. We attend conferences like this regularly because we always come back with new ideas on ways to improve our practice and the services we offer our clients.
While learning about the latest trends in the investment world was helpful, one particular topic caught our attention.
This year, as in prior years, the staff at Triad-Advisors identified and selected a local charity they felt was worthy of our sponsorship.
For the 2015 Conference, Operation Open Arms was chosen as the charity of choice. Upon learning more about this charity, we found it hit a special place in our hearts. Operation Open Arms combines our passion for fishing and the outdoors with the need to help our US troops returning from foreign duty. Even more impressive is the fact that 100% of all donations go towards benefiting our troops and none is paid towards overhead.
We were personally moved to help their cause, and the conference was able to raise nearly $40,000 for Operation Open Arms.
